• Center for Reflective Communities (CRC) is nonprofit 501(c)3 and a leading training, clinical, and research center dedicated to building reflective communities where all children may flourish.Center for Reflective Communities strengthens bonds between children and those who care for them, engendering healthy development for our children, families and communities. Through our growing network of community partnerships, CRC provides comprehensive, advanced trainings in our mindful and reflective approach to culturally competent mental health and early childhood professionals, who then bring our innovative programs to families and children most in need.Founded in December, 2008, CRC joined two innovative parenting group models serving the local community for nearly a decadeMindful Parenting Groups and the Reflective Parenting Program. Our programs apply cutting edge research in child development and affective neuroscience toward the goal of helping families and professionals to improve caregiver-child relationships. Both RPP and MPG are designated by California Institute of Mental Health and L.A. County Department of Mental Health as Community Defined Evidence group models for prevention and early intervention, focusing on parenting and family difficulties. In 2014, in conjunction with UCLA and Childrens Institute, Inc., CRC began its first five-year, federally funded, randomized control trial research of RPPs impact on school readiness, studying 240 parents of 3-5 year olds in state preschool and Head Start.
