• The Mandell Gisnet Center for Conflict Management will help you find solutions to conflict through our training, mediation and consulting services. In 2005, a bequest to the Monterey College of Law from Maurice Mandell and Rebekah Gisnet established the Mandell Gisnet Center for Conflict Management. The Center operates as a program of Monterey College of Law with a focus in the following key areas:1. Curriculum development at the law school in the field of alternative dispute resolution (ADR) including course concentration in the fields of negotiation, mediation, arbitration and other forms of facilitated conflict management.2. Public policy dialogues among Central Coast businesses, agencies, non-profit organizations and others on issues of broad public concern including land use policy, water resource management, agriculture, education, employment, healthcare, housing, and community/law enforcement relations.3. Continuing Legal Education on alternative dispute resolution and other forms of conflict management for local attorneys, paralegals, and ADR practitioners. Introductory and advanced mediation training is offered and qualifies for Mandatory Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) requirements of the California State Bar.4. Community Education designed to promote alternative dispute resolution skills and knowledge among the general public by offering trainings designed to teach to skills of positive conflict resolution.
