• Therapeutic Alliance is a provider of home-based and outpatient counseling services to individuals and families,specializing in multicultural counseling services.Traditionally, the United States has been defined as a melting pot in which various cultures are assimilated and blended as immigrants, molding their beliefs and behavior to the dominant culture. The melting pot image has given way to a more pluralistic ideal in which immigrants maintain their cultural identity while learning to function in society. This pluralistic ideal has created a unique challenge in the counseling community. Not only are immigrants still flocking to America from Cuba, Haiti, Vietnam, Guatemala, El Salvador, and other countries, but also culturally diverse Americans already living in the United States are demanding changes in that the way they receive counseling services. This has created unique challenges to providing culturally competent counseling services in our communities.Therapeutic Alliance specializes in providing culturally competent counseling services to diverse populations. The staff at Therapeutic Alliance is very diverse in its own right. Many disciplines are represented by our licensed professionals, clinicians, and workers, including but not limited to the following: Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, Marriage and Family Counseling/Therapy, Human Services Counseling, Family and Child Studies, and Applied Behavior Analysis. Many staff members are certified and/or specialize in certain categories of the social disciplines mentioned above.
