Sandco Industries provides a wide range of employment opportunities and related services to adults in Sandusky County. Sandco Industries is a subcontract sheltered workshop involved in light assembly, packaging, sorting and inspection, document destruction, salvage, and mobile work crews. Sandco Industries prides itself on its quality production standards, proving that individuals with mental retardation and developmental disabilities are viable, productive members of the communitys workforce. These individuals are paid a piece or hourly rate based on prevailing wagesThe majority of the production work performed at Sandco Industries focuses on the washing machine industry. Sandco Industries currently holds sixteen sub- assembly contracts with Whirlpool Corporation, located in Clyde, Ohio. Sandco Industries also contracted with other local manufacturing companies such as: Woodbridge Corporation, The Plastics Group, Curwood Corporation, Wahl Refractory and other local business establishments. Within our workshop there are approximately 194 Consumers working on sub-assembly jobs. Sandco completes more than 22 million sub assemblies per year.
