- Music for Life lnternational, Inc. (MFLI) was established to create social impact in a variety of sectors through music. MFLI presents musical concerts and related programs to promote the awareness of major international humanitarian crises and other public interest issues in the US and around the world. MFLI takes its name from the legendary MUSIC FOR LIFE concert organized by Leonard Bernstein in 1987 at Carnegie Hall. Music for Life International Inc. presents the Scheherazade Initiative, a benefit concert of the great Scheherazade-inspired pieces by Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov and Maurice Ravel, organized and led by Singapore-born Indian conductor George Mathew. The concert will be presented in the Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage at Carnegie Hall on January 26, 2015 at 8pm. Net proceeds will benefit the UN Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women, beneficiary of the concert. WWW.SCHEHERAZADEINITIATIVE.ORG
