Growing Gardens Oregon
Get Full AccessDescription
- Growing Gardens digs at the root of hunger in Portland, Oregon. With hundreds of volunteers, we build organic food gardens at the doorsteps of low-income families and elementary schools. We support our Home Garden households for three years with seeds, plants and mentoring. Our Youth Grow program nurtures the next generation of veggie growers and eaters through year-round after school and summer garden clubs. Our Learn & Grow workshops teach the general public about seed starting, gardening, seed saving, cooking, food preservation and keeping chickens in the city. Planting the seeds of good food, healthy people and strong communities...we help people GROW!
