• Interact helps people live fulfilling lives by providing resources for Aging, Behavioral Health and Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. For over 45 years, Intercommunity Action, Inc. (Interact) has provided assistance to help people live successfully in the community. Interact was established in 1969 as a private, not-for-profit, community-based organization designed to meet the human services needs of the residents of the Andorra, Roxborough, Manayunk, Wissahickon, East Falls, and Nicetown neighborhoods of Northwest Philadelphia. While most of our services benefit the residents of these communities, our programs have grown to reach across Philadelphia and its surrounding counties.Intercommunity Action, Inc. (Interact) has more than two dozen individual programs and more than 400 staff working to fulfill our mission and to meet the needs of our consumers. Journeys Way, our division that serves older adults, provides programs for active adults ages 55+, housing counseling, affordable housing for adults age 62 and over, geriatric mental health, and assisted services that allow frailer individuals to age-in-place. Behavioral Health Services are coordinated through our Greenridge Counseling Center, which serves children and adults in a variety of outpatient, home, school, and community based settings, and our services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, include community residential living arrangements, a day activities center, and supportive employment services.For additional general information about Interact, email us at info@intercommunityaction.org or call (215) 487-0914.
