• Our mission is to serve those in crisis and to prevent homelessness and hunger. We provide wrap-around services to homeless and at risk individuals and families, taking special care to protect the families, especially the children, the elderly, and the handicapped, regardless of race, age, gender, or religion from the despair, hopelessness, and social injustice caused by poverty. Primary services include Children and Family Development, Housing Assistance, Food, Workforce Development, and Adopt-A-Family at Christmas. The Care Service is the largest comprehensive social support agency in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties and has been serving the people in these Missouri counties since 1981. Our programs are designed to stabilize and strengthen the family by reintegrating them into our community, affirming our motto:Planting the Seed of HopeBreaking the Chain of DespairThe Care Service programs are provided to individuals or families in St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren Counties who are at or below 50% of the state median income.How We StartedSts. Joachim & Ann Care Service is a non-profit organization founded in 1981 by five volunteers, with $500 in hand, and a profound spirit of charity. Little did those five inspired people realize how far their dedication to assisting people and families in need would go, or how many thousands of people would be empowered, encouraged and uplifted by that spirit.
