- Mission Art 415 was created to support and promote the talented muralists and graffiti artists who work locally in the Mission District of San Francisco. The organization was founded by Executive Director Lisa Brewer and Artistic Director Randolph Bowes in 2006 as an effort to clean up Lilac Alley, which was at the time a mecca of drug abusers and prostitution. Their efforts to mobilize local artists effectively transformed the street into an outdoor gallery of public art. Brewer, Bowes, and their staff provide local artists with an outlet and a means for their creative expression. In the true spirit of a community effort, Mission Art relies on local vendors, donations, and volunteers to make their project possible.
