• World Services for the Blind is a nonprofit comprehensive rehabilitation center for people who are blind or visually impaired. Since 1947, WSB has offered life skills and career training programs that allow people who are blind or visually impaired the opportunity to gain independence and compete in the modern workplace. Life Skills programs include Braille, Techniques of Daily Living, Orientation & Mobility, Small Business Training, Keyboarding and more. Our career path training programs include Assistive Technology Instructor, Desktop Support Technician I & II, Call Center Specialist, Credit Counseling, and three IRS Programs. The IRS programs are unique in that students who complete the program and graduate are guaranteed employment with the IRS. Our newly expanded suite of transitional-age youth programs allows WSB to reach an even great segment of the blind and visually impaired population. The ACT Prep program helps students prepare for the college-entrance test, while College Prep I & II evaluates a student's skills and provides training for a successful college career. The Essential Work Place Skills programs is designed to address the guidelines laid out in the Workforce Innovation Opportunity Act for the Pre-Employment Transition Services.
