• In the past 12 years, we have provided mentors to over 1,000 young people and have trained over 400 committed adults as mentors, many of whom have volunteered for over five years. IN THE AUTUMN OF 2005, a number of women in our community came together to explore ways of mentoring girls through their adolescent years. The Rose Circle was born out of a nine-month visioning process. Initially, we offered mentoring circles for girls in Ashland. The first circle began in March of 2006 with nine girls, two adult Mentors and two Junior Mentors from Ashland High School. In September 2008, we opened our mentor training and mentor services to men and boys. In 2009, we added one-to-one mentoring to the services we offer. Today, most of our circles take place in the schools or other on-site locations in Medford, Phoenix, Talent and Ashland. In 2016, we announced our new name and logo: Rogue Valley Mentoring. Some special mentoring projects weve launched include: OUTDOOR PROGRAMSCamp Luna, Luna Day, Luna Journeys YOUNG MOTHERS CIRCLEScircles of support for young moms YOU ROCKteen variety shows to showcase the talent of area youth Our projects often begin by a community member with a new idea and a passion to bring it to life. We are grateful for the creativity and commitment of so many who recognize that it does, indeed, take a village to raise a child.
