• Project Scientist fosters the future of young women in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) who will lead the world in solving tomorrow's greatest challenges! Our promise is to educate, coach, and advocate for girls with an aptitude, talent, and passion for STEM. Through hands on exploration, education, and mentoring Project Scientist helps girls discover the endless opportunities available to them in STEM. Girls join us for six weeks of camp during the summer on the campuses of top university or expeditions throughout the year to STEM companies. At every step of the way, we introduce the girls to female professional STEM Superstars thriving in their fields to show them what their futures may look like. The only focused effort of its kind, Project Scientist was developed to offer girls the essential support to foster and cultivate an interest in pursuing STEM careers for girls aged 4-12 years old. Through extensive research on current trends and practices we have built a robust and focused program to serve as a national model for advancing girls and women of all ages in their STEM interests and passions.We know that 78% of school-aged girls have an interest in STEM, yet women only make up 25% of the STEM workforce, and that somewhere along the lines we are losing these STEM girls. The need for Project Scientist was based off a vast amount of research that shows girls with a high skill, aptitude, and talent for STEM disciplines are not currently served or identified at a young age. Consequently, underserved and unidentified, girls are not provided STEM opportunities at a pace, depth, and breadth commensurate with their talents and interests. We created Project Scientist to change the world view of who a scientist is and what a scientist does. The vision of Project Scientist is to transform the face of STEM by nurturing todays young women to pursue careers in STEM and use their talents and intellect to solve our greatest challenges!
