• Back in 1994, Neeps co-founders Scott Sanfilippo and Joe Palko started one of the very first e-commerce stores TheFerretStore.com. They started out doing everything themselves from picking, packing and shipping orders until the company reached a point where we needed to start hiring people. The company has grown over the past 15 years to include warehouse workers, customer service representatives and administrative staff.In 2009, eCommerce operations and marketing guru John Dawe came on board as the companys general manager.The history of our company has been written up many times over the years and has been the topic of college business classes all over the world.In May 2007, we sold TheFerretStore.com to the largest pet supply company in the united states, Drs. Foster and Smith of Wisconsin. Since then we have re-focused our business on starting and acquiring eCommerce businesses and nurturing and developing them into successful, profitable entities.What is a Neeps? What does Neeps mean?Nothing. Well, not exactly. When the company was founded in 1994, we were known as North East Exotic Pet Supply. Throughout the years and through the diversification of the company, we changed our name to that funny word Neeps.
