• Sevee & Maher Engineers, Inc. (SME) was formed in 1985 to provide civil and environmental services to the private and public sectors for the siting, design, permitting, and operation of solid waste landfills. SME added personnel and capabilities and by the 1990s became a provider of a broad range of civil engineering services including groundwater resource engineering, site development and permitting, stormwater planning and permitting, water and wastewater treatment design, utility design, geotechnical engineering, environmental assessment and remediation, as well as environmental management. SME currently employs a staff of approximately 30 senior technical professionals with a broad range of expertise in various engineering disciplines. Our additional support personnel include environmental scientists and construction services engineers who are adept at providing field services. Our primary office is located in Cumberland, Maine, and recently we added a branch office in Atlanta, Georgia. SMEs technical staff has provided a wide diversity of services to clients throughout the United States, allowing us to develop expertise with many state and federal regulations related to site development, soil, water, and environmental management.
