• Home of Guiding Hands provides services to more than 1,600 individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in San Diego and Imperial Counties. We serve individuals and their families in several different residential settings and provide various services in accordance with the needs of each individual.To receive services through HGH, individuals must have a primary diagnosis of an intellectual disability. This diagnosis may be compounded by other developmental or physical disabilities such as cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy or a vision or hearing impairment. Placements are coordinated by the San Diego Regional Center.HGH's services are funded through government sources and corporate and private donations. Due to limitations and restrictions in government funding, HGH also relies on the support of individuals, corporations and private and public grant funds to provide its expert services to people with developmental disabilities. Comparisons with large state-run institutions offering fewer services indicate that HGH provides significant tax savings for California's taxpayers, while offering a greater quality of life for its residents with disabilities.
