• Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley provides a temporary home-away-from-home for families of critically ill or traumatically injured children. The House opened its doors on the grounds of Maria Fareri Childrens Hospital in Valhalla, N.Y. in May 2011. The House has 12 bedrooms with amenities, including: two kitchens, two laundry rooms, common areas and game rooms. In addition to these amenities, volunteers offer home-cooked meals for families, as well as reflexology, yoga, art therapy, haircuts and other services to promote health and relieve stress.Ronald McDonald House of the Greater Hudson Valley has served more than 450 families since opening two years ago. Families who stay at the House have children at Maria Fareri Childrens Hospital, Blythedale Childrens Hospital and other nearby hospitals who suffer from cancer, motor vehicle accidents, burns and many other serious injuries and illnesses. Our House is a critical part of a childs treatment, providing the ability for families to stay together. We provide our families with a low-cost, safe and comfortable home-like setting with the convenience of being steps away from the hospital. Our staff and volunteers are here to provide comfort and support to our families during the most difficult time of their lives.
