• Brett M. Scotch, DO, is an AOA board-certified otolaryngologist (ear, nose and throat) and facial plastic surgeon who practices at the Scotch Institute of Ear, Nose & Throat in Wesley Chapel, Fla. He has additional certification in sleep medicine. He is an adjunct assistant clinical professor for the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine-Bradenton in Florida and teaches students who rotate through his office. Dr. Scotch was named 2011 Physician of the Year by both the Florida Osteopathic Medical Association and the Hillsborough County Osteopathic Association. He has received the Patients Choice Recognition Award and the Compassionate Doctor Award each year since 2008. He was one of four physician finalists for the 2009 Tampa Bay Health Care Heroes award, and his office was nominated as a 2014 Best Places to Work Finalist. Dr. Scotch serves as President on the board of directors for the Hillsborough County Osteopathic Medical Society for the 2014-2016 term. In 2011, he volunteered for a week to provide care to an underprivileged population in Jamaica.Prior to going into private practice, Dr. Scotch served as a major in the U.S. Air Force Medical Corps, where he cared for military personnel, their families and retirees at the MacDill Air Force Base Hospital in Tampa, Fla. He also served as the medical director of the MacDill Air Force Base Sleep Laboratory.
