• A leading Shakespeare festival with an emerging national reputation for excellence, Pennsylvania Shakespeare Festival (PSF) is a professional theatre company on the campus of DeSales University. Founded in 1992, PSF is the only fully professional Equity theatre in the Lehigh Valley and the only theatre of its scope within fifty miles. PSF is the Official Shakespeare Festival of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.Each summer, PSF produces a season of Shakespeare and other classics, musical theatre, and childrens theatre. About an hour north of Philadelphia and less than two hours from Manhattan, PSF is summer home to over 150 artists from around the country, including winners and nominees of the Tony, Obie, Emmy, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, Jefferson, and Barrymore awards. In the fall, the Festival's premiere education program, the Linny Fowler WillPower Tour, tours a Shakespeare play to students in PA, NJ & DE. Every year 40,000-50,000 patrons attend PSF from 30+ states 850,000 patrons from 50 states and many countries since 1992. PSF is a constituent of Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national service organization for not-for-profit professional theatre, and PSF is a also member of the Shakespeare Theatre Association, Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, Discover Lehigh Valley, and the Lehigh Valley Arts Council.
