Mo | Mayes Office

Description

• Established in 2004, MO | MAYES OFFICE is an award winning, interdisciplinary architecture and design studio. Architecture is a synthesis of function and expression, drawing from many disciplines in its design and execution. It protects us from the elements, and has the ability to reach deep into our psyche. It is both a reflection and a shaper of our values as individuals and as a society. Architecture is also a powerful device which can facilitate or inhibit our actions. Our built environment has the ability to nuture as well as oppress, and its role in these goes too often unnoticed. It is for this reason that Mayes Office believes architecture and design are more important than ever, and strives to impact our global community by addressing challenges and problem solving across multiple scales and methodologies. At the core of our beliefs is the idea that Architecture should be engaged with its surroundings. A sense of responsibility and stewardship of our environment are vital to the well being of society at every level. This care begins with the way in which we live our daily lives through the choices we make. Our built environment is the most fundamental of these choices, and leaves a lasting impact on every decision thereafter. It is for this reason that Mayes Office strives toward sustainability and LEED Best Practice Standards.
