- Our mission is to provide English language skills help people thrive.We provide this with two core programs; Tutoring Program which includes One-to-One individualized English (ESOL/ESL) Tutoring for Adults in addition to 18-hour customized Tutor Training 3-4 times per year. The second core program is ourand ESL Group Course instruction which runs from Survival to High Intermediate level. These programs are offered at no required fee and are confidential, individualized, and offered year-round. We are a community non-profit supported by over 150 volunteers, 8 qualified teachers and 3 FTE's. FInancial support of Literacy Volunteers is a community effort and we appreciate all our dedicated and new supporters.Since 1973, we have been providing English language education services to the adults iage 18 and over n the Greater Worcester community. As a needs-based organization, we continue to serve refugees and immigrants with the greatest need.
