• The Lincoln Theater was built in 1957 to provide a central performance venue and meeting facility for the residents of the Veterans Home of California as well as the community at large. In early 2000, a group of concerned citizens wanting to bring culture and arts to the Napa Valley, including providing a more suitable home for the Napa Valley Symphony, formed Friends of the Lincoln Theater, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, to raise funds for and oversee the desperately needed overhaul. Thanks to their hard work and generosity, the Theater underwent a $22 million renovation that transformed the nearly 50-year-old structure, into the modern, 1214-seat, state-of-the art multi-purpose venue that it is today.The Lincoln Theater produces its own programs, presents programming of others, produces workshops and education-based productions aimed at our local youth, provides internship to local students interested in developing careers in the theater and music, rents space for private and corporate events and continues to be the proud home of the Napa Valley Symphony.Since re-opening in 2005, the Lincoln Theater has presented some 70 shows each year, ranging from symphonic, classical, jazz, rock and international music to ethnic dance, comedy, musical theater and opera. Performing at the Theater have been top professional talent from all over the world, including individual headliners, national and international touring companies, and such community-based groups as the Napa Regional Dance Company and the Napa Valley Youth Symphony, and, of course, the Napa Valley Symphony.
