• Goodrich Floor Coverings first opened its doors in June 1995. Its owner, Craig Goodrich, had been working for years in the closet organizer business and realized his customer base had other needs, like many were in need of new floor coverings. So he took a risk and leased a retail space near his home. During his first year of business he landed a contract to service tenant improvements in 10 apartment communities. He continued to learn more about flooring and his business grew rapidly. After quickly outgrowing his first space, he again moved. In 2002, his thriving business necessitated a move to another leased space. To further diversify, he added a commercial salesman. Again in a year, he needed to double his space but this required only a short move across the parking lot. In 2004, we started servicing a large builder contract, Fieldstone Homes, providing their flooring needs. This kept us busy supplying their carpet and hard surface needs. Our warehouse space was constantly bursting at the seams, where we realized another move was necessary. Craig had always wanted to own a building rather than lease. In June 2005 he realized this dream when he moved his business into an existing retail and warehouse building. Along with his team of family members, installers and friends, he renovated the space into a beautiful showroom featuring carpet, tile, laminate and hardwoods. Goodrich Floor Coverings is a family business. Craigs mom was his first receptionist. His wife, Laurie joined him full time in 1996. They have 4 daughters that have all worked with them, from secretarial work to tear-out to warehouse labor. None are afraid of work. They all have enjoyed working together (most of the time).
