- There are many facets to running a successful company, but nothing is more fundamental than people. Be it the staff you trust with the daily operations of your business or the customers who stop by every morning to pick up a newspaper and cup of coffee, happy people are often what differentiates an average business from a thriving one. Starting with its first independently owned convenience store in West Bend, Wisconsin in 2000, Mad Max began to grow its brand name in 2007 with the acquisition of its second location in Sheboygan. Since then, the company has grown to own 10 convenience stores, a restaurant, and truck stop across Southeastern Wisconsin. The recent purchase of O'Connor Oil in December 2014 added a fuel hauling transport division and wholesale gas jobbership to the company as well. Our company is set for expansion, updating and rebuilding our current locations while developing new sites. 2016 will be the year that Mad Max and the Coffee Syndicate join forces to bring a new concept across our brand moving forward. This initiative will debut our food service program that features hot and cold sandwiches made to order, as well as other high quality, prepared grab-and-go items, a fresh bakery, and premium coffee drinks to our customers. Valuing independence, trust, and mutual respect, we strive not only to offer our team members opportunities to grow and hone their professional skills, but to foster a positive relationship with our customers and local communities as well. Moreover, we encourage our team members to take ownership within the company, offering ad-hoc committees to make decisions, create plans, and take on projects as well as internships for aspiring management students.
