- Acknowledge Alliance was founded in 1994 as The Cleo Eulau Center (CEC). We help create classrooms where students want to learn and teachers want to teach. Acknowledge staff works side-by-side with educators to build Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) competencies into their daily teaching practices in core curricular subjects: Resilience how to persevere and bounce back in the face of academic and life challengesSocial competencies that allow for supportive group work and safety to take risksEmotional regulation that allows teachers and students to identify and release tensions that interfere with learningEmpathy- allowing teachers and students to see multiple points of view in history, literature, science, problem solving and present conflictsCultural competence- recognizing and building on prior knowledge, history, awareness, and skill sets students bring from home language and cultureOur work to support the quality interactions between teachers and students, along with social emotional learning embedded into the curricula, has been cited as some of the most, if not the most, important factors for student success.
