- St Marys Calne is a boarding and day school of around 340 girls aged 1118. Approximately 80% of the girls board and it is a rich boarding life with all girls taking part in the full-curriculum and extracurricular activities on offer.St Marys is committed to providing a broad and fulfilling education that will challenge and inspire its pupils, as well as helping them to achieve fantastic public examination results.In 2012, 85% of the GCSE exams taken were awarded the highest A*-A grades and 71% of girls gained eight or more A*-A grades. At A Level 66% of the examinations taken by St Marys Calne girls were awarded A*-A grades, with 27% at A*; this compares most favourably with the independent sector average of 18%. 23 girls (46%) achieved either A*s or As in all their exams, which compares with an independent sector figure of 6.1%.The school is small by design and is renowned for outstanding pastoral care. Every girl is known and cared for as an individual and has a Tutor to support and guide her through every aspect of school life; from organisational skills and subject choices through to university application.
