• The Waukesha County Community Dental Clinic (WCCDC) opened in May 2008 with a mission to provide and advocate for quality oral health services and education for low income families. The clinic serves those who are uninsured or who have Medicaid insurance in Waukesha County, with an emphasis on children, at-risk pregnant women, and the Hispanic population. The need threshold is defined by an income below 200% of the U. S. Federal Poverty Guidelines. Dental care at the clinic isnt free; however, fees for dental services do not exceed $20.00 per visit for uninsured patients. Medicaid coverage is accepted and billed as appropriate. The clinic is open Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and operates with a paid dental staff, an executive director, and local volunteer dentists and hygienists.In addition to providing dental care, the clinic serves as an organizational home for community outreach and oral health prevention programs, which are conducted in collaboration with community partners. The WCCDC continues to work with a broad-based organization of partner agencies, all of which are interested in improving oral health and access to dental care in Waukesha County for uninsured and racial/ethnic minority populations. Also, the WCCDC serves as an offsite classroom for dental hygiene and dental assisting students.
