• United Way of the Columbia-Willamette is more than a nonprofit organization we are a community problem solver. We are one of 1,800 United Ways located around the world focused on advancing the greater good by addressing the issues that matter the most to the areas we serve.Locally, United Way of the Columbia-Willamette is focused on breaking the cycle of childhood poverty. We are harnessing the caring power of people across multiple sectors community members, corporations, small business, government, nonprofits, schools, and labor to bring about the systemic change needed to improve the lives for kids and families living in poverty in our four counties. Together, we are sharing experiences, exchanging data and information, and building collective knowledge around new and promising practices to improve the outcomes for kids and families living in poverty. In addition to our own unique mission focused on breaking the cycle of childhood poverty, we also work to help local businesses increase their corporate social responsibility efforts by making philanthropy easy for tens of thousands of donors. How? We help businesses create and run workplace giving campaigns and actively engage in our communities through volunteerism. Currently, we partner with close to 600 local businesses on their workplace campaigns and volunteer efforts, providing employers and employees and easy way to give and volunteer to the causes they care most about in our region.
