    Description

    • Aspen Funds selects primarily 1st and 2nd position residential mortgages across the US. Our selection criteria are based primarily on asset quality, pay history, and loan-to-value ratios. Many of the mortgages have high interest rates (9-12%) and yet can be purchased at significant discounts, resulting in a potential for very high current yields with strong cash flow, ideal for an income fund. Fixed cash payments are made quarterly to investors. Excess cash is continually reinvested in new mortgages. All our mortgages are secured by the underlying real estate, providing a margin of safety. Because we are buying at a discount, if the home is sold or refinanced, we have the potential for one-time capital gains equal to our discount when the loan is paid off.
