- The Depot Express was founded by Tom & Lynette Scheetz in 1975. The original location next to the train tracks in Oxford was remodeled from a service station (Tom's Standard [yes, that Tom]). In the early 90's, the original location proved to be too small, so The Depot that we know today was built. In 2006, The Scheetz Family purchased an old gas station in Tiffin, later to rebuild into the nicest convenience store many customers have ever been in. In 2009, our Coralville location was acquired and slightly remodeled. In 2011, Gilman was purchased, gutted, and remodeled. Today, there are 4 convenience store proudly displaying The Depot Express brand. These locations have a wide selection of convenience items as well as fresh prepared foods. The Depot is well known for their Depot Pizza and their friendly employees. To sum it up: The Depot Express = Upscale Convenience.
