• A unique combination of advocacy, professional development and networking has led to more than 112 years of success for the Insurance Brokers Association) the State of New York (IBANY). IBANYs membership is comprised of broker and associate and includes experienced professionals, as well as those new to the industry. For over a century, the Insurance Brokers Association of the State of New York (IBANY) has represented the interests of New Yorks leading commercial insurance producers. IBANY combines advocacy, networking and professional development to: promote the professional knowledge and status of IBANY members; provide opportunities for business interaction between the brokerage and underwriting communities; study and promote a more thorough understanding of the general public's insurance needs; foster better understanding between the Association, its members, and the companies with which members do business; advocate for the interests of the interests of the industry with legislators and regulators; and ensure the general welfare of the Association. The Associations professional development efforts include frequent interaction with insurance company leaders and other industry experts. Broker members have the opportunity to spend time with top decision makers of major insurance carriers at the Associations popular CEO Breakfasts. Our monthly education programs use information and opinions provided by experts as a basis for lively discussion on a variety of timely topics. IBANY also places particular emphasis on networking opportunities for broker and associate members. Two popular receptions held in New York City each year are examples of the Associations balance of advocacy, professional development and quality time with colleagues in an informal setting, all of which help to build valuable relationships and successful businesses.
