Girls In
Get Full AccessDescription
- Girls in STEM is a Howard County, Maryland based nonprofit organization founded by two high school students to provide free tutoring services to girls in grades 1-12. Girls in STEM encourages girls to pursue STEM careers in the future by helping them succeed in these classes while they are younger. To increase their exposure to different STEM fields and careers, Girls in STEM is also working on hosting many female guest speakers from a variety of STEM-related backgrounds. Since the presidents do not believe that money should stand in the way of getting the best education possible, all the services offered by Girls in STEM are free. Girls in STEM also offers high school students (male and female) the opportunity to develop their leadership skills, earn service hours, and give back to their community by giving them the chance to become tutors.
