- Robert F. Smith has been blind all of his life. His Father, O.C. Smith, inspired Robert to use his voice and his heart to build a passion to enable him to reach out to others. In 1969, the hit song, Little Green Apples, (written by Bobby Russell) and sung by Roberts father, O.C. Smith, became a smash hit. The song is evergreen and artists of today are still recording and using this hit song that O.C. Smith was known for. Robert, wanted to take the song to the next level by creating a project that will enable a million acts of kindness to be shared with others. This will allow funds to be raised on local levels to help non-profits, and Robert wants to inspire others by his example. Through the distribution of what he calls the Friendship Apple, Robert is planning concerts, speaking engagements, and his ultimate dream is to touch one million lives across the country. By joining Roberts dreams, you can assist a blind man who has a vision for humanity.
