- Independent Dispatch was created in 1980 by Mike Gilbert and Stu Johnson to market intermodal and over-the-road services. We steadily grew that business over the years and then added a regional truck fleet to expand our service offerings. Today, IDI is an award winning multi-modal domestic freight forwarder with more than 80 employees and 28 company owned day-cab trucks. We specialize in supply chain solutions, logistics, intermodal, short haul and long haul trucking. When it comes to transportation and logistics services, its hard to find a better partner than IDI. With over 35 years of experience moving all sizes and types of shipments throughout North America, we have the flexibility and resources to provide whatever service you need.
