    • The City Tutors (CT) was founded in 2013 at CCNY as a student-led, volunteer academic support service that would support efforts to increase classroom retention and college graduation by expanding tutoring at or near the instructional space. Tutors in turn would be provided flexible opportunities to explore career tracks and develop technical skills at the cross section of their subject interests, while receiving tailored professional assistance to craft a narrative that could successfully secure scholarships, internships, and jobs. Since inception, we have supported over 500 students and 150+ tutors. Mission: -Develop tailored academic support for educational programs, departments, and institutions seeking to enhance and expand support to their students.-Design academic support at or near the instructional site to ensure students receive dedicated, meaningful, and accessible learning assistance; and instructors and academic programs receive feedback on student performance that can be used in revision of curriculum and programming.-Empower high achieving students to lead the design of more student centered learning spaces within their community.-Prepare a fellowship of civic minded students for professional life after college.
