Description

Founded in 2003, the first generation of Veteran Resource Network, Inc (VRN) had a focus on community services related to grief management and recovery. As the organization matured, it found itself being called to assist other organizations in organizing and operating their own slice of community services. Since 2007, the organization's focus shifted to supporting our returning heroes. By 2010, all work on a daily basis had the focus of assisting veterans, one at a time, with whatever their reintegration needs happened to be at that point. The corporate name took a natural change to the Veteran Resource Network, Inc. Networking, to better reflect the work done to connect our active duty and veterans with opportunities and services.VRN has several programs that are operated internally and several that are partnerships. A unique characteristic of the VRN is that all the employers VRN connects with veterans, guardsman, reservist and active duty military personnel with have been vetted to ensure what they offer is authentic to the announcement. Further, all employment that we connect our heroes with pay a minimum baseline of $15 per hour. For a vast number reservists and guardsman, this is highly significant.This $15 per hour minimum acceptability profile is both a critical value proposition for our organization, but it is a critical living wage that our heroes and their families need to ensure that they can maintain their fiscal integrity and avoid the need for public assistance to live day to day. The positive impact on the veteran can hardly be overstated.
