We focus on the functional needs of each client, and provide therapy with the purpose to generalize the gains in the private speech therapy setting to natural communication environments, such as a home, school, child-care center, and community. Amanda King founded Therapies of The Rockies in 2008 to assist families with obtaining quality speech therapy services without having to go to a hospital setting. Amanda worked in the Colorado school systems for three years as well as in home health agencies prior to founding Therapies of The Rockies. She currently focuses on making sure that every client receives the best speech therapy and that Therapies of The Rockies maintains its high standard of excellence.In working with children,this practice centers therapy on developing functional language skills to ease the frustration in communication for both the child and parents and to give the child skills to communicate effectively with peers. We utilize current technology in our practice, such as the use of Ipads and Ipad applications, to extend the therapy from the therapy room to real world experiences. Our philosophy is that family involvement is the key to a childs success in therapy and we work closely with parents and siblings to maximize the clients potential.
