• The Diaper Bank provides diapers to children and adults through a network of more than 50 community partners including crisis nurseries, shelters, spousal abuse centers, public health departments, and senior centers. Approximately 7 million diapers are needed annually in Southern Arizona but due to its limited financial resources, was only able to collect and distribute 14% of those requests. Regardless of age or size, 6-10 diapers are needed daily (around $100 per month). Public assistance is limited. Food assistance programs such as SNAP and WIC focus solely on food and nutrition, and do not cover diapers. Low income families and elderly depend upon the Diaper Bank for their supplies. For Infants and Children its a matter of hygiene and access to good childcare. 1 in 3 American moms struggle with diaper needs. They often cut back on food, utilities, and other necessities to provide diapers for their babies. To be eligible to attend daycare programs, parents are often required to supply diapers for their children.
