- Under the leadership of Bishop LaTrelle Easterling and Lay Leader Delores Martin, the Baltimore-Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church is made up of 1,024 clergy and 177,031 members in 642 churches in Maryland, Washington, D.C., the panhandle of West Virginia and Bermuda.As a connectional church, the Baltimore-Washington Conference joins in ministry with churches around the world in 68 other annual conferences that make up the denomination, which totals more than 12 million members. The mission of the conference is to call, equip, send and support spiritual leaders to make disciples for the transformation of the world.The conference staff of more than 50 people does its ministry at the BWCs Mission Center in Fulton, Md., at a satellite office at 12 S. Walnut St. in Hagerstown, and at three camps near Annapolis, Harpers Ferry and Berkeley Springs, W.Va.
