• Cambodia Tomorrow concluded our programming at the Cambodia Tomorrow School, on the grounds of the Kompong Speu Orphan Center (KSOC), with the completion of the 2015-16 school year. We are happy that our school, including curriculum and teachers, will continue at KSOC under the direction of Project Khmer H.O.P.E., a Singapore-based NGO. Project Khmer H.O.P.E. It has been an educational and rewarding 14 years, and it is with a mixture of sadness and satisfaction that we are ending our programs. The students are in good hands and our teachers are well-trained. Over the years we have provided education at the primary, secondary and college level, immunizations, field trips, nanny salaries, uniforms and clothing, celebrations and monthly supplies of rice to the residents of KSOC. We opened the doors to community students living with their families and ran a robust English program from preschool through high school. We provided XO and Windows computers and instruction, as well as internet access. We connected families in the US with children at the orphanage through our sponsorship program. We provided opportunities for university and vocational school to our graduates.We did all this with the financial support, encouragement and engagement of our donors and sponsors. We thank them for making it possible.It is said that the best way to enter a country is through its customs. We would like to send our thanks to the innumerable Khmer individuals and organizations who welcomed us and taught us about their country with incredible grace and forbearance. Our friends in Cambodia guided and coached us on culturally appropriate solutions, ensuring that we were meeting the needs of our students in the best way possible. It is with gratitude that we take that lesson on perspective with us.
