• Located 40 miles south of Kansas City, Wildwood Outdoor Education Center is a 501(c)3 nonprofit youth education organization that has provided experiential outdoor education, team building, and leadership skills development to Greater Kansas Citys urban core youth since 1980. Wildwood serves approximately 6,500 youth and 500 adults each year through a variety of outdoor, environment-based education and summer camp programs. Wildwood also provides a comprehensive Leadership & Team Building program, including corporate retreat facilitation. Since 1980 Wildwood has provided alternative outdoor education, team building, and life-long skill development to youth and adults in the Kansas City metro area. Wildwood operates on 150 acres of pristine natural land near La Cygne, KS. The property was originally owned by the Bob Allen and Majorie Powell Allen family but was donated to Wildwood in 1980 to continue a tradition of serving our regions youth. In addition to a large outdoor education and learning center, Wildwood includes cabins for 130 campers, a swimming pool, play fields, covered outdoor activity area, a large tree house, ponds for fishing and canoeing, low and high ropes courses, an adventure challenge course and miles of hiking/nature trails.
