- The Family Pet Hospital opened its doors on February 8th, 1998. On that day, founder and owner Dr. Cristina Valas was able to realize her dream of being her own towns small animal veterinarian. Part of this dream was to be able to practice in a relaxed, family-oriented atmosphere, in which she would have plenty of time to play with her patients, get to know their owners personally and be able to educate them on their pets needs. Today, she is proud of her practices ability to provide exceptional medical and surgical services in that very same compassionate, family-oriented atmosphere. The practice has grown tremendously in the last five years; The Family Pet now serves over 1800 pets and will continue a steady growth, but controlled, so as not to compromise the individual care each patient (and his or her family) receives.
