With its extruded aluminum space frame, the Panoz AIV Roadster became the first-ever production vehicle to be constructed of 70% aluminum components. The design & manufacturing processes pioneered by Panoz created a vehicle that was not only lighter, but stronger as well. Next was the Panoz Esperante, a Grand Touring class vehicle that didn't merely incorporate previous innovations, but inspired the creation of new ones. Panoz was the 1st manufacturer to use SPF components in a production automotive application which was originally developed for aerospace applications. The Panoz GT LeMans made its entree into road racing in 1997-no better way to demonstrate the Panoz engineering & manufacturing expertise than to compete against the world's best! Panoz didn't go racing to challenge; it went to WIN', against manufacturers -Porsche, Jaguar & Ferrari. In 2006, Panoz won the GT2 class at the 24 Hours of LeMans -testing & proving its technological expertise, racing provided an opportunity to develop & implement new engineering & manufacturing concepts.
