The technology trains athletes to increase focus, lower anxiety, and get into the flow-state or the zone with greater ease and frequency. In addition to flow-state training, neurofeedback is also used to help with recovery from traumatic brain injury, including concussions, which can have lifelong repercussions. Not only does it accelerate the healing process to get the athlete back into competition sooner, but it can prevent the damage from becoming permanent and restore brain function. Electrical frequencies created by the brain are received by sensors attached to specific locations on the scalp. The frequencies are translated into audio and visual stimuli via an EEG machine and a monitor.
