- ABOUT THE DETECTION GROUPThe Detection Group offers reliable, cost-effective, monitoring and alarming solutions that protect owners, managers, tenants and insurers from the costly damage that can result from water leaks in their commercial and residential properties. Detection has installed these systems in many well-known high and low rise commercial and residential properties in the U.S.The Detection Group technology started in a San Diego garage in 2006. The idea was the brainchild of our founders, who had managed a company in the remediation business. From this experience, our founders were very familiar with the expense and disruption caused by water leaks in multi-story properties, but at the time they found no solution for it. They founded a company called Dtection, Inc., which developed and marketed the Dtection wireless water leak detection system and service. In 2013, Dtection was purchased by The Detection Group, Inc., which is headquartered in Mountain View, in the heart of Silicon Valley.WE FOCUS ON WATERDamage caused by water is the largest and most common claim against property insurance. Detection answers the need in the market for reliable leak detection systems which can defray the billions of dollars in damages to homes and buildings caused from simple water leaks each year.Detection's cost-effective intelligent monitoring and alarming systems are currently protecting millions of square feet of Class A Commercial Office Space and luxury condominiums in the United States.Customers report that their Detection systems usually pay for themselves in the first year by averting major water disasters.
