- Intouch came in to existence as a result of alliance between Phones R Us and Wireless World. Two strong wireless retail players in the New York Metro market. Wireless World at the time had a strong presence with 9 locations in high profile commuter areas of Manhattan whereas Phones R Us catered to the suburban population of New York and had 8 locations in Westchester, New Jersey and Queens. INTOUCH THE WIRELESS PROFESSIONALS (Intouch) was founded in 1998 to provide emerging wireless solutions to end consumers, while providing a challenging work environment that attracts the best wireless professionals. Intouchs goal was to be one of the fastest growing retail wireless chains in the Tristate area with 30 retail stores and a strategic initiative to expand its footprint into the underserved rural markets by 2003.
