The U.S. Military All*Stars are the only baseball team in the world to field all 5 branches of the U.S. Armed Forces, to include Active Duty personnel, Veterans, Disabled Veterans, Wounded Warriors, and the U.S. Military Academies. The U.S. Military All*Stars was an idea and vision that President George H. W. Bush devised in hopes of re-establishing the morale for troops that baseball gave them back during the World War II era. Some of baseball's greats left their baseball careers to serve in the military, like Ted Williams, Hank Greenberg (Hammerin' Hank), George Sisler, Bob Feller, Warren Spahn, Joe DiMaggio, Ty Cobb, Christy Mathewson, Stan Musial, Willie Mays, and many more. At one point during World War I, Christy Mathewson, Ty Cobb, and George Sisler all served together in the U.S. Army under the direction of Major Branch Rickey. It was the vision of President Bush, and his comments about the history between the military and baseball, that led to the eventual development of the U.S. Military All*Stars in 1990. The team ranges from 19 to 27 years of age, with tremendous talent and experience prior to, or after their military service. These men have all competed in NCAA Division I, II, III, NAIA, or NJCAA college baseball, Independent Baseball, or Minor League Baseball. The U.S. Military All*Stars first, and foremost leads with honor, and exemplifies through their character and talents, a passion for the game of baseball, on and off the field. The U.S.A. uniform worn by our players, is in honor of the brave service men and women who came before us, and who continue serving in the U.S., and across the world today. During the Red, White, and Blue Tour, we will be traveling across the country playing in 11 states against the top summer collegiate and professional baseball leagues in the U.S.. Start making your plans today to see the 26th year of action, as our Heroes of the Diamond bring a must see, entertaining, and memorable event that cant be missed.
