• Our mission: to enhance the quality of life for pediatric patients and their families in the Rocky Mountain region. Rocky Mountain Childrens Health Foundation (RMCHF) was established in 2008 with funding from Colorado Health Foundation to help meet the needs surrounding pediatric patients and their families, as well as to provide an avenue for community support. We provide direct assistance to meet these families most fundamental needs beyond the scope of the hospital or medical insurance coverage. Our services are rooted in three key areas; Mothers Milk Bank (MMB), Patient and Family Assistance and the Stink Bug Project. Throughout the year, we provide direct assistance to more than 2,000 pediatric patients and their families in need. A nonprofit program of the Foundation, MMB collects, processes and provides human donor milk to babies across the country. Babies who receive the milk may be premature or have severe illnesses and need human milk to thrive. MMB consistently provides more milk to NICUs than any other nonprofit milk bank in North America and adheres to the strict guidelines of the Human Milk Banking Association of North America (HMBANA). In June 2015, the Foundation expanded its current capacity by moving from the Presbyterian/ St. Lukes campus in Denver to a specially designed facility in Arvada. The new facility increases the current space by nearly 50 percent and house an expanded 1,000 sf lab that exceeds HMBANA guidelines by becoming the first US nonprofit milk bank to implement an ISO7 cleanroom to reduce microbial and particulate contamination during milk processing.
