Then, on January 1, 2012, Day was on her way to the gym to kick off the New Year with a healthy start, when she was in a car accident. As a result of the accident, she suffered minor back pain and was uncomfortable sitting at work all day. When she searched online for ideas for pain relief, one solution was to try standing at work. But, Day was unable to find a simple standing desk which was affordable and worked within her office space. An inventor at heart, Day decided to make her own makeshift standing desk out of cardboard boxes and reams of paper. Soon, her back felt better. As her co-workers took notice, and asked for standing desk of their own, Day recognized a huge opportunity, and decided to take the leap and start her own standing desk company. With the exponential success and growth, Day is delighted that so many people have benefitted from her desks.
