- Brava! for Women in the Arts is a committed to the artistic expression of women, people of color and youth. We give voice to the experience of all women everywhere and the transformation of our community through performing arts.According to surveys of our current audiences, we attract one of the most diverse theater audiences in the Bay Area. For productions with a Latino/a focus (i.e., with Latino/a writers/directors/performers, or with content related to Latino/a cultures), our audiences self-report as 35% Latino/a, 25% other people of color, and 40% Euro-American. Other productions and performances reflect a similar breakdown, with higher percentages of African American, Asian American, and lesbian/gay audience members when we produce produce/present events related to these cultures. People under 30 make up 20% of the current audience. Brava! for Women in the Arts is a professional arts organization committed to producing, presenting and cultivating live art celebrating the intersection of feminism and multiculturalism that ignites social changes and builds community.
