- Meals on Wheels of Lehigh County, Inc. is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization registered in the state of Pennsylvania. The Agency began serving homebound seniors and adults with disabilities on February 1, 1971. With the help of trained and caring volunteers, we deliver one or two meals (based on client preference), provide a friendly visit and a wellbeing check each weekday to 440 individuals every weekday; almost 900 unduplicated clients per year. Clients pay for their meals based upon a sliding fee scale that takes into account income and expenses. More than 90% of clients need to have their meals subsidized. In 2015, we have to raise $615,000 to meet the need for our program. We also provide grocery shopping services, pet food for clients who have pets, emergency meals and connect our clients with other services they may need.Mission: We enhance the wellness and indpendence of adults, who are primarily homebound, by providing nutritious meals and supportive services.
